Course Description:
​Spring is coming (really!) and it’s time for a gardening class. Sandy Liakus, Sandoval Extension Master Gardener since 2008, will moderate the course and present along with other Master Gardeners and/or Extension Specialists on “Planting for a Changing Climate,” including a dedicated session on climate, and a field trip to the Santa Ana Native Nursery to view a native demonstration garden maintained by SEMG volunteers.

Facilitator Biography:
​Sandy has lived in Placitas since 2007 and loves to work in her garden and home landscape with her husband James Pilcher. Sandy is a member of the SEMG Advisory Council, Chair of the SEMG Outreach Committee that oversees the Master Gardener Helpline and Home Visits programs, and she loves to interact with clients to help resolve their plant questions. She is also the Chair of the annual Placitas Garden Tour, which showcases the unique beauty of our Placitas landscaped properties. Sandy’s other volunteer endeavors center around music and performance, and she is currently the Co-Chair of the Canyon Blues and Jazz organization, which presents the annual Sandia Chill Concerts in the summer. She is also a past President of the New Mexico Jazz Workshop Board of Directors.​​
