Course Description:

If you’ve always wanted to speak and understand Spanish for travel or personal use, join PACE for a 6-hour Basic Beginning Spanish Class led by Diane Herrera Shepard.  This class will meet on Tuesdays, Oct. 21, Oct., 28, and Nov. 4 from 10-12 at The Placitas Community Library. The course will provide an overview of Spanish Basics, including pronunciation, functional vocabulary, grammar, and most importantly, speaking.  Each participant will be asked to write a short personal introduction and learn to verbally present themselves in various situations.

In order that Diane can give adequate attention to all course members, we may need to limit registration, so if you would like to take this course, please sign up right away! Because registration may be limited, we would like everyone signing up for the course to be sure they can attend all three class dates. If you can’t attend all 3 classes this time, we are looking to offer the class again in future semesters. If we do reach our maximum number, we'll provide a notice here on the PACE website and/or by email.

  • Handouts will be provided. You’ll need to bring a 3-ring binder and a set of 8-12 subject dividers.

  • After sign-up Diane will contact you to review your personal objectives.  She can also recommend other instructional books and materials for those who may want to purchase them prior to the class.

Join us for a fun and purposeful series of classes that will help you begin to learn and use Spanish!
